October 19: Chelsea House Orchestra to perform at 23rd Annual Hometown Show
Chelsea House Orchestra’s 23rd annual Hometown Show will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Chelsea High School.
Chelsea House Orchestra (CHO) is a Celtic music group comprised of students from Chelsea High School. Founded by Jed Fritzemeier in 1996, and led by CHS Orchestra Director Philip Sylvester and CHO Director, Steve Lesko, Chelsea House Orchestra has been in-demand for over 20 years at festivals and events throughout the midwest, including the Chicago Scots Highland Games, Thunderbay Maritime Festival, Indiana State Fair, Alma Highland Games (MI), and Edinboro Highland Games (PA), and Michigan Irish Music Festival. CHO’s music features lively Scottish and Irish traditions and Celtic renditions of American folk songs, with a little Hungarian-inspired music and rock and roll thrown in for kicks.
With an opening performance by Beach Fiddle Club, led by director Nathan Peters, this exciting evening of toe-tapping Celtic music will keep you clapping and smiling all evening long. Following the show, the audience is invited to enjoy the afterglow reception in the Commons.
